When our muscles are short and tight, we run the risk of pain, strains, and injuries. With assisted stretching, you can reach better angles and get a deeper stretch than you would on your own, mitigating injuries and boosting performance.
Assisted stretching (or partner stretching) is a process in which a practitioner guides an individual through a series of deep stretches. Using this technique, you can target specific muscles and extend them much farther.
At your initial consultation, our coaches will sit down with you and discuss your current mobility, ailments, and medical history. We’ll also conduct an assessment to determine your baseline and evaluate your form and posture. Then, we’ll work with you to customize a program to address your concerns and any imbalances discovered.
After that, you can schedule assisted stretching with our coaches in 30- and 60-minute increments. Sessions are pay-as-you-go, and there are no minimum requirements. How often you schedule sessions is up to you.
During each session, your practitioner will communicate with you to gauge your comfort level. If you experience any discomfort, we will modify the stretch accordingly to accommodate your body.
While Sheer Dominance is a judgment-free atmosphere, we know you probably don’t want to be stretched out in front of everyone. That’s why our assisted stretching is performed in a designated room separate from the gym floor. We aim to make you feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible.
Solo stretches can only do so much for your body, especially if you're not doing them correctly (or at all . . . we see you).
Partner stretching can boost performance, mitigate injuries, and improve overall health for people of all ages and fitness levels. Let’s take a closer look at the benefits of assisted stretching.
Reduce Muscle and Joint Pain
Do you ever feel joint or muscle pain after sitting for long periods? You may credit this to getting older, but tight muscles are a lingering culprit for some of that tension.
With the help of a trained practitioner, you can loosen stiff muscles and target persistent aches to reduce muscle and joint soreness Over time, your muscles will become longer, leaner, and more flexible. With healthy muscles, we can mitigate joint stress and prevent injuries.
Improve Flexibility and Range of Motion
Assisted stretching allows you to safely and comfortably extend your muscles farther than on your own. This is because your partner can isolate specific muscles by stabilizing different parts of your body. This helps improve your range of motion and gives you a deeper stretch.
As your range of motion improves, you’ll likely see a boost in athletic performance and daily activities. Since your muscles can elongate more freely, you can achieve greater power and strength during your workouts. Moreover, by incorporating assisted stretching into your routine, you will likely experience a faster recovery time and reduce cramping and muscle soreness.
